» katycopsey - Definition of Trade Nonfiction

I noticed that your agency deals with Trade Nonfiction. I write gardening articles and would like to do a book, but I was curious as to what consistutes 'Trade' versus a 'normal' book in nonfiction.
Thanks
Kate

Hi, Kate!

Trade non-fiction (or nonfiction) are books for the "trades," meaning books found in regular bricks and mortar bookstores. These are distinguished from other types of books, for instance: text books for school libraries and classrooms, or professional books for specialists in a particular field. Good question! Thanks for writing.
